A Christmas Carol. In Prose. Being a Ghost Story of Christmas was written and published on the 19th December 1843. Christmas in this period was under going a transformation into what would be recognizable today.  Influenced by this trend, Charles Dickens wrote his novella, which in itself would become a christmas tradition. A Christsmas Carol is the best known of Dicken's Christmas stories, he would write another four until his death in 1870. In 1849 due to the sucess of the story he began public readings every year until 1870, by which time he had read the story to delighted crowds 127 times. These bottles are handcast and are influenced by actual 18th and 19th century medicine bottles, with original illustrations influenced by the story. Bottles are for display purposes only, and are not designed to hold liquid. They come with a ribbon and hook for hanging on a christmas tree if you so choose.
