Written by the English poet, playwright and actor William Shakespeare ; Hamlet is a tragedy written between 1599 and 1602. Set in the Kingdom of Denmark, the play dramatizes the revenge of Prince Hamlet upon his uncle Claudius; who after murdering Hamlets father seizes the throne, marrying his deceased brother's widow. This tombstone depicts the characters Hamlet and Ophelia, and their doomed love.
