The Pretiosissimum Donum Dei, or the ‘the most precious gift of God’ , is an important early alchemical work ascribed to the 15th century alchemist Georgius Aurach de Argentina and dated to 1475. The work’s mystical text reveals the practice of the creation of an elixir of life, useful for rejuvenation and immortality. For a long time, it was the most sought-after goal in Western alchemy.
The Anatomia Auri was written in 1628 by the alchemist writer, composer and Doctor of medicine Johann Daniel Mylius (1583 – 1642). The work also speaks of the creation of a golden elixir of life, and the recipes for the use of gold as a medicine and cure all.
